KAMPALA, UGANDA, 1ST APRIL 2019 – The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the proposed Kingfisher Development Project.
The ESIA Report is now available for public scrutiny and comments.
The Kingfisher (KF) Development Project refers to the oil production infrastructure to be established within Buhuka Parish along the south-eastern side of Lake Albert in Kikuube District and a feeder pipeline transporting oil from Buhuka to a delivery point at the proposed Kabaale Industrial Park in Hoima District.
The major components of the project include four onshore Well Pads, a Central Processing Facility (CPF), Production flowlines and water injection flowlines linking the wells to the CPF, Lake water abstraction station, supporting infrastructure such as camps, a materials yard, a jetty and internal access road among others; and a feeder pipeline to transport the stabilised crude from the Central Processing Facility (CPF) to a delivery point in Kabaale.
Details of the nature of the project, its location, benefits to the local community, anticipated positive and negative environmental impacts; and proposed mitigation measures to respond to the negative impacts have been provided in the ESIA Report.

The public is further notified that the outcome of the public review will contribute towards making a final decision on the project in accordance with the National Environment (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations, S.1 No.153-1.
Members of the general public and Project Affected Persons (PAPs) are encouraged to submit any comments and views on the Kingfisher Development Project ESIA Report to the undersigned, by 15th May 2019. Ends…/
