KAMAPALA, UGANDA, 1ST MARCH 2019 – The Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) has partnered with the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS) to donate blood aimed at boosting blood collection across the country.
According to statistics from UBTS, the country needs at least 400,000 of blood every year and UNOC owes to its stakeholders to contribute meaningful social causes that affect them diversely.
This is because a potential blood shortage affects everyone indiscriminately regardless of stature and standing in society.
As a result of the high need for blood transfusion, the staff of UNOC on Friday 1st March 2019 at Plot 15 Yusuf Lule Road, donated blood to save lives and improve health.
UNOC is passionate about the communities the company services and believes a healthy community is critical to the fulfillment of its overall function of handling the Government of Uganda’s commercial interests in the petroleum sector and to ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.
UNOC will continue to complement UBTS efforts to mobilise its internal and external stakeholders to appreciate such humanitarian cause.
Donating blood saves lives and is voluntary. Providing safe and adequate blood is part of Uganda’s national health and care package. Ends…/
